What will my first appointment be like?
Upon entering the office you will be cheerfully greeted by our scheduling coordinator, Erin Warner-Coleman. She will instruct you to sign in to our fully computerized system. While you are in the reception room take a guess at our "Rock Trivia Question of the Day" posted on our black board.
Our Treatment Coordinator, Lori Heller will greet you in the reception room and welcome you into the office. Lori will give you a brief tour of the treatment area and information about the office. Once you have gotten aquainted, Dr. Sabelis will introduce himself and evaluate your orthodontic needs. In the event that you or your child are not yet ready for orthodontic treatment due to growth and developement or other issues you will be placed on the Sturbridge Orthdontics Recall Program. However, if Dr. Sabelis determines that you are ready to begin treatment at this time Lori will schedule an appointment for orthodontic records. Lori does the records appoinments usually on Wednesdays or Fridays. The records appointment consists of upper and lower impressions and a wax bite for study models, photographs, a digital lateral ceph and panorex x ray. Aproximately two weeks following the records appointment you will come in to meet with Dr. Sabelis to recieve his diagnosis, review the radiographs and confirm the treatment plan. At that consultation appointment you will meet with Lori, to review financial arrangements make initial appointments and she will answer any questions you may have about the office. The first step towards getting your braces or appliance fit will be to come in for orthodontic separators a week prior to the banding appointment. These are tiny blue elastics that are wiggled in between the back teeth to ensure enough space for the back braces to be placed. A member of our Clinical team will escort you into the musically themed treatment area. Sturbridge Orthodontics Clinical team consists of Lori Heller, Robin Temple, Tina Johnson and Jodi Scola and Dawn Leandres. They will ensure that your visit with Dr. Sabelis is a pleasant one. Make sure you let them know your guess at the Rock Trivia Question of the Day. You want to earn your "Back Stage Passes". Good oral hygiene is very important to us at Sturbridge Orthodontics so your assistant will evaluate your hygiene at each appointment. We use a grade scale of A to F just like in school.
You are on your way to a Rock Star Smile! Along the way you will be able to get some cool prizes from the Back Stage Store by redeeming your Back Stage Passes. You will be able to earn up to 3 passes per visit. All you have to do to earn one is take care of your braces by getting a brushing grade of B or higher and not have anything broken. To earn the second pass you can answer the trivia question correctly. The third pass will be given to you if you wear your "Sturbridge Orthodontics T Shirt" to your appointment. The more passes you collect, the better the prizes.
